  • How do I know what class to register into?
Visit our Gymnastic Classes page for more information on each class. Age is not the only factor in determining the best class for your child. Skill level/physical abilities, social/emotional development, and good peer/instructor fit are also important factors. Children need to be able to be safe, following the instructor and class, and not be running out of class or to Parents/Guardians for any independent class. Tiny Wigglers is for infants who can hold their head up on their own (typically 3-4 months) up until they are walking and is an adult participation class. Little Movers is for children who are steadily walking up to 3 years and is an adult participation class. Little Jumpers is for 3 and 4 year olds and is an independent class. Mini Tumblers is for 4 and 5 year olds and is an independent class. Junior Tumblers is for 6 years and up and is an independent class. Senior Tumblers is for 7 years and up and is an independent class. *students must also meet specific skill benchmarks for this class. See class page for more details. Little Leapers Creative Movement Dance is for ages 3 to 6 years and is an independent class.
  • When do classes start and end?
We run on a annual basis- Our session begins in September and ends in August of the following year. We have flexible, ongoing enrollment open all year. You can enroll into a class when you are ready to start and if a spot is available. For information on how to enroll go to our Registration page. If you wish to end your enrollment before the end of the annual session in August please email us BEFORE your monthly recurring payment is due, which is on the 20th of each month. You will incur the $25 registration fee if you re-enroll at a later date (which is otherwise an annual fee if you remain enrolled, due each September). We have three terms throughout the year for progress updates. Fall - September to December Winter - January to April Spring/Summer - May to August Everyone needs to re-enroll every September for our new Annual Session. Registration for the new session typically opens in July. Some classes fill VERY fast!
  • How do I register for a class?
To register for classes at Haven Movement Centre you need to first create an account. Once you have an account with us you can register for classes using our portal. Alternatively you can view class schedules on the Gymnastics Classes page. By clicking the enroll button while viewing the schedule you will be prompted to create an account or login to your already created account to complete the enrollment in your chosen class time and day. Everyone is required to have agreed to our terms & policies to attend any class or event at our centre, as well as have a valid payment method on file at all times (bank account or credit card). For more registration information visit the Registration Page.
  • Do you have trial classes?
We do not offer trial classes. We feel that one class is not enough to make a decision. It usually takes several classes before your child warms up to the facility, structure of the class, instructor, and other students. We do not have a long-term contract commitment, just a month to month structure. So we believe trying for at least 3 weeks will allow you to make an informed decision. And you can always come by during our open hours and view a class or attend an open gym session prior to deciding. For more information please see our registration page.
  • Can I makeup a class I missed?
We do not provide make up classes. We have small class sizes and most classes are full, therefore making it impossible to accommodate. If you feel there is an extenuating circumstance, such as your child has had a prolonged illness or injury, we will assess on a case by case situation at our discretion and if availability exists, a possible make up plan. Please contact customer service hello@havenmovementcentre.ca if you feel this situation applies to you.
  • Can I transfer/change the day and time of our class?
Yes, you are more than welcome to switch the day and time of your class as long as there is a spot available in your preferred class. You can view class availability on the Gymnastic Classes page or by logging into your account and viewing the class schedule. Please contact us to transfer your class as you are not able to do this online yourself.
  • The gym was closed/class cancelled for a stat holiday, staff illness, or other reason? Will I get a refund/credit?
We are closed on MOST BC statutory holidays, and some of the long weekends- at our discretion. We calculate monthly tuition based on receiving an average of 4 classes. Some months, certain class days will naturally receive 5 classes, and there will NOT be an extra charge for that extra class. If we have a pre-scheduled closure, and you receive less than 4 classes for that month, we will pro-rate the tuition you are charged for that month. If there is a sudden closure/cancellation due to inclement weather/staff illness, etc. and you will receive less than 4 classes for that month, we will offer a make up class first if possible or an account credit at our discretion. We will always remind/notify you of upcoming closures if they affect your class day typically via email, announcements, and notices up in the facility. If it's a last minute change, we will send a text/email and try our best to post a notice on the facility door if possible.
  • What should participants wear at your facility?
T-shirts, tank tops, shorts, bodysuits, or stretchy pants/sweatpants. Please no baggy or long sleeve shirts, and no jewellery or other accessories. Long hair should be pulled up and out of their faces. Children will be rolling so make sure they do not have anything in their hair/on their head that might hurt them. Avoid metal objects like buttons, zippers and belts. Dance classes- the same attire as gymnastics is appropriate- skirts and tights are also acceptable. Dance shoes are not mandatory but are a great asset if you're able! You can find second hand ballet or jazz shoes on marketplace, once upon a child, and via other consignment methods. We also ask children not to bring toys/stuffed animals/electronics or other personal belongings into class besides their labelled water bottle.
  • Cancellation/Drop Policy
END ENROLLMENT: How to drop a class: If your child is enrolled in a class that has recurring monthly tuition, you are continuously enrolled in the program and will incur monthly tuition charges on your account until the end of the annual session. If you would like to drop your enrollment before the end of the annual session, please contact customer service BEFORE the recurring payment date which is the 20th day of each month. So by the 19th at the very latest! The more notice you can give, the better. Instructors cannot drop students from classes. No refunds or credits will be given if you drop a class after payment has been processed. We do not recommend ending your enrollment before the end of the session or term as your child will not receive a progress update or receive the full benefits of progression. Upon your return you will have to pay the enrollment fee again. For all other programs like Birthday Parties, Adventure Days, Adventure Nights, Field Trips and private lessons we do not offer any refunds or credits once payment has been made. If there is an extenuating circumstance please contact customer service and we will try to reschedule based on availability, but this is not guaranteed. We need a minimum of 2 students enrolled to run a class, being a flexible month-to-month program, sometimes enrollment can change dramatically up or down each month. We typically will know around the 20th of the prior month if a class has dropped below the minimum, but sometimes it changes throughout if a family switches to a different class day or time. We will contact you as soon as possible if a class has only your student enrolled, and typically give a month's notice of the class cancellation to give time to either 1. Hopefully gain more enrollment in the class, or 2. Find you a different class day and time that works before the next month's charges are processed.
  • Terms and Conditions - Classes
Our gymnastic classes run year round in one annual session starting in September and ending in August. Within the annual session are the following terms used for providing a progress update. Fall term: September to December Winter term: January to April Summer term: May to August You can choose to drop your enrollment at any time throughout the term or session. To do so, please contact customer service BEFORE our recurring payment date which is the 20th day of each month. We do not recommend ending your enrollment before the end of a term as your child will not receive a progress update. Upon your return you may have to repeat the class again. A $25 enrollment fee is due each time you register or re-register into a class. You can pay for a full term (up to 4 months) in advance; however, no refunds or credits are given if you elect to drop before the end of the paid-for term. Alternatively, we offer a convenient Monthly Auto-Pay System, where we apply your charges to your bank account or credit card on the 20th day of each month. You must have a valid credit card or bank account on file in order to be enrolled for monthly payments- even if you elect to pay with cash. Students may join at any time as long as there is availability in your desired class. Classes must meet our minimum class size at all times in order to run- 2 students! If you are unsure if your class has met the minimum enrollments needed to run, please contact us. As class sizes change month to month with new enrollments, transfers to different classes, and drops; we cannot guarantee a class will always run for the full annual session. If necessary, we will give as much notice possible to let you know of class cancellations, and offer other available options to transfer. Once registered, students attend class on the same day and time each week. PAYMENT: Payment is due at the time of registration for all programs. For monthly gymnastics classes your enrollment fee and first payment (full or pro-rated month tuition) is due at registration and all subsequent payments are due on the 20th day of the month for the following months classes. A valid credit card or bank account is required to register for classes and events online. If you elect to pay a recurring monthly class with cash, you must contact us to do so before the recurring payment date of the 20th or the autopay system will charge the credit card or bank account on file. Haven Movement Centre will initiate electronic payments for any balances due on your account, plus a NSF/administrative late fee of $25.00 will apply for any late payments past 48 hours due. ENROLLMENT FEE: A $25 enrollment fee per child is due upon registration for class enrollments. This fee will not be charged again unless you un-enroll from a class and then re-enroll at another time. Otherwise the fee is charged annually for everyone for the session starting in September. BILLING: Once enrolled in a program that has recurring monthly tuition, you are continuously enrolled in the program and will incur monthly tuition charges on your account until you email a class drop request and receive confirmation from us and/or complete the annual session in August. All fees are subject to GST. Some months will receive 5 classes. There will be no extra charge for the 5th class, but those days will be considered in lieu of any classes missed while Haven Movement Centre is closed, due to some statutory holiday closures, staff illness, or inclement weather closures. We will make every attempt to give as much notice possible for class cancellations. DISCOUNTS: If you register your child into two classes per week, you will receive a 20% discount off of your second class fee (whichever is lesser). REFUNDS: We do not offer any refunds or credits once payment has been made. Only in extenuating circumstances like a global pandemic, natural disaster, or other major illness/injury will we provide a credit on your account on a case by case situation and at our discretion. MAKE-UP CLASSES: We do not allow make-up classes. Children that miss several classes due to severe and/or prolonged sickness or injuries may be eligible for a credit or make ups, provided that they have a doctor’s note. Please contact us if this is the case. GYM CLOSURES: We are closed on MOST BC statutory holidays, and some of the long weekends- at our discretion. Please also refer to our website and social media pages for updates. Our event calendar shows standard closures.
  • We're in a Little Movers (adult participation) class- can my other child(ren) and/or another adult attend with us?
No. This class is reserved for the registered child(ren) age- walking up to 3 years old and ONE adult participating with them at a time. Siblings are not allowed into the gym or to join in on the class for a few reasons: 1. They need to be in our registration system, with you having agreed to our policies & terms, in order for them to be insured in our facility. 2. It's fair to the other paying members who have paid for the instruction and time in our facility. 3. A larger/older child risks injuring smaller ones. 4. Our facility is smaller, so we need to maximize the space we have for instruction based on the class max sizes we allot. *If you have an infant who will be strapped to an adult in a carrier or in an infant car seat for the duration, that is fine. AND we understand there may be an extenuating circumstance where you need to bring an older child (sibling) with you- please try to let us know ahead of time and they may only be permitted to stay in the viewing area or inside the gym, but they must sit off to the side with a quiet activity and not interfere with class or be on any equipment. Though we understand this can be a fun activity to do as a family, or share with others in your child's life, a second parent/friend/grandparent etc. is not allowed to attend with you in the gym during class. Again, our facility is smaller, so we need to maximize the space we have for instruction based on the class max sizes we allot. They are more than welcome to watch from our viewing area, and we suggest you switch off part way through, or every other week. You may also join a second weekly class and get 20% off your tuition!
  • How many students do you need to run a class?
We prefer a minimum of 3 students per class, but we will run them with 2. We need a minimum of 2 students enrolled to run a class, being a flexible month-to-month program, sometimes enrollment can change dramatically up or down each month. We typically will know around the 20th of the prior month if a class has dropped below the minimum, but sometimes it changes throughout the month if a family switches to a different class day or time. We will contact you as soon as possible if a class has only your student enrolled, and typically give a month's notice of the class cancellation to give time to either 1. Hopefully gain more enrollment in the class, or 2. Find you a different class day and time that works before the next month's charges are processed.
  • How do payments work? Can I pay cash? Can I pay in advance?
Payment is taken as soon as you enroll into a class (or event). If you are a new student, and/or at the beginning of a new session, a $25+gst non-refundable enrollment fee will apply. This fee is per student, NOT per family. If you enroll the same student into multiple classes, the fee is only charged once. Tuition is charged as soon as you enroll as well. If you start part way through a month, we will prorate the tuition based on the # of classes left in that month and charge it immediately. Tuition is charged monthly on the 20th for each subsequent month of classes. For example, on Sept. 20th, tuition is charged for October. This gives us a chance to see if enrollment has changed (with drops, transfers, or new enrollments) and adjust classes, pull kids off waitlist for the coming month, and give notice of potential cancellations. You must have a valid billing method on file at all times (bank account or credit card) if you are enrolled in a recurring class or program. You can have a backup billing method on file if you'd like and change or update them whenever needed. If we notice in our system your card is expired or expiring soon, we will send a courtesy message to remind you to update your billing method on file so your next payment will go through with no issues. If you have any concerns, such as your card was compromised and you're waiting on your new one, please contact us right away so we are aware. You can pay cash if you'd prefer- we don't carry change, so any balance will be added to your account as a credit, and cash payments must be communicated to us prior and must be received prior to the 20th, or we will process your card on file. You still need a billing method on file even if you will pay in cash. You can pay up to 4 months of class tuition in advance (it will go on your account as a credit and be deducted each billing cycle)- however please note our cancellation/refund policy still applies if you choose to drop early regardless of advanced payments made. If your payment declines, we will try any secondary method on file if applicable. You will receive a declined receipt, and we will send you a courtesy email to ask that you update your billing method ASAP. If we don't receive payment within 48 hours, a $25 NSF fee may apply, and you risk your child being dropped from their class or program. If we don't hear from you at all by the end of the month, your child will be dropped and your account flagged/removed from our system.
  • Can we watch dance classes?
Typically no. There is not a lot of space for viewing of dance classes, and we feel it can be distracting. Instructors will come to the gym gate to bring in the class, and you can say goodbye and see you after class from there. These classes are independent so your child needs to be able to participate independently, and stay with their instructor for safety, without you in the class. You may walk your child up to class if needed, especially the first few times (or if you're late), and then you need to walk back down to the viewing area. If you or we feel this independent class is not working for your child, or they're not ready, we will talk with you. We also will be starting to work on short routines to show off at the end of the term, so we are very excited that these will be a surprise for the child's parents & loved ones who may come to watch! You absolutely can remain in the facility in the lobby, viewing areas, or your vehicle to be close for the duration of class. If your child still needs help in the bathroom, please remain inside the facility as the instructor may call you to come in and assist taking them as to not disrupt the class too much. Please have your child use the washroom before class and have a plan- i.e. tell your child and their instructor where you will be for the duration, and if your child has any cues to watch out for. We are not a licensed childcare, therefore our instructors are not trained or have the resources to help with toileting safely while managing the other students in the class. In the case of an accident or emergency, of course staff will step in and do what's needed to help a child. We do have cameras throughout the facility for the safety of our members, the children, and our staff. If you have any other concerns with your child's progress, behaviour, or class in general, please reach out.
  • Does my child need to be potty trained for an independent class? Do instructors assist kids in the washroom?
No. We ask that if your child is not potty trained, for classes or open gym that is fine, we just ask that they wear their diaper or pull up during class to protect our mats & equipment. If your child still needs assistance in the washroom for anything- we ask that you please remain inside the facility as the instructor may call you to assist taking them as to not disrupt the class too much. Please have your child use the washroom before class and have a plan- i.e. tell your child and their instructor where you will be for the duration, and if your child has any cues to watch out for. We are not a licensed childcare, therefore our instructors are not trained or have the resources to help with toileting safely while managing the other students in the class or event. In the case of an accident or emergency, of course staff will step in and do what's needed to help a child if no parent or guardian is available. *for all independent events (i.e. kids night out, camps, etc.) children MUST be independently potty trained meaning they need NO assistance in the washroom for any step including pants up & down, wiping, hand washing, etc.
  • Can I take photos/video of my child during class or events?
Photo & video is generally not allowed, except with explicit consent & conditions during classes or events. This is a newer policy for us, so we are asking for your compliance in this matter to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable attending our facility. Please respect our staff as they enforce this policy. If you are unsure of something, or see something, please let us know! If you'd like a photo or video of your child in the gym or dance class, please ask their instructor before/after class and they will allow you to come in (or arrange a time that will work best) to ensure that no disruption is made to class or the event, and to ensure that no other children/families are visible in the photos/video. At private event rentals/birthday parties, you are entitled to take as many photos and videos that you'd like! As long as your own guests are ok with it. Please respect our staff if they ask not to be photographed.
  • REGISTERING FOR CLASSES
Our gymnastic classes run year round in one annual session Sept-Aug. Registration for the annual session starts in July or August. Date TBA. 1. Once the session is started you can register anytime throughout the year as long as a spot is available in the class. We do not future date registrations more than a week out. When you are ready to register class starts immediately after registration. If a spot is not available you can waitlist for your preferred class day and time. You can waitlist for any class that you would like to join. There is no limit on # of classes you can waitlist for, but please only waitlist for classes you are ready to join. Once a spot is available you will receive an email asking if you want the spot, and you will have 24 hours to reply. If you do not reply the spot goes to the next person on the waitlist, and you will be removed from your waitlist spot. You are not charged any fees for waitlisting; you are only charged when you register into a class. You can also be enrolled in a class and waitlisted for another at the same time if the waitlist spot is more preferred. To register for classes at Haven Movement Centre you need to create an account. Once you have an account with us you can register for classes using our portal. Alternatively you can view class schedules on the Gymnastics Classes page. By clicking the enroll button while viewing the schedule you will be prompted to create an account or login to your already created account to complete the enrollment in your chosen class time and day. All families are required to have agreed to our terms and policies and have a valid payment method on file at all times to attend any class or event.
  • How do I book a birthday party?
To book a birthday party at Haven Movement Centre you need to create an account. Once you have an account with us you can book a party using our portal. Alternatively you can view party slots and book on the Birthday Party page. Use the calendar filters to find your preferred party month, time and day. Select the party slot to register. You will be prompted to create an account or login to your already created account to complete the party booking using your chosen day and time.
  • Do I need to have all my guests sign a liability waiver?
No. Once you complete the online registration for the birthday/event, and create an account agreeing to all our terms and conditions, this insures all your guests under the age of 12 years old using the gym.
  • How many children can attend?
Only participating children of the party may may enter the gymnasium area. The base package includes up to 15 children which includes any age child in the gym (even crawling/toddling infants). If you would like anywhere from 16-24 children, you need to contact us at or directly after booking to add this to your package for a $50 +gst flat fee. Our maximum capacity for participating children at rental bookings is 24. If there are more than 15 children participating, and you have not previously added the additional package, you may choose to remove the additional children, or be charged the $50 +gst fee. If there are more than 24 participating children, you will be asked to remove the additional children for safety. Parents of guests must remain in the lobby, designated viewing area, or party room for the duration. Parents or guardians of the party child/event hosts may enter the gym area to take pictures if they like. For parties with children under the age of 3 years old, it is mandatory to be within arms reach of one parent or guardian at all times. Otherwise no adults are allowed in the gym area, and never on the equipment at any time. No exceptions! We are asking to keep adults in the facility at parties to one per child if needed. If the Birthday child is older, we recommend asking parents to drop off and pick up instead. Only children under 3 require a parent to be with them. The parties are set up for the children, and there is not a lot of space for spectators. *PLEASE NOTE EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 2025: Parties will be increasing in price slightly to $350+gst per 2 hour booking BUT WILL include up to 24 kids with no additional fee add-ons. Parties booked until end of August 2025 will not be affected by this change.
  • Can I come earlier than my party start time to set up?
No. Unfortunately you are not able to come early to set up as we need time to clean and prepare the space between each party. Much like a hall rental, your private facility rental begins at the time your booking time is. We allow you a maximum of 5 minutes early entry to bring in your party food/decor only. However, the party room is up stairs and away from guests view so you will have time to set up as the kids arrive and head into the gym, before anyone will see that space. We recommend keeping decor and set-up to a minimum for this reason. And the kids spend the majority of the party in the gym anyways. If you'd prefer more time to set-up, we recommend starting your party part way into your rental time (i.e. if your rental booking is 2:45-4:45pm, have your invitations say the party starts at 3pm, which would allow you 20 minutes for set up) and/or booking the last time slot of the day and extending by 15-60 minutes. You also have to have all items & guests out by the rental end time. The staff will gather the kids together 10 minutes before the end of the party for a group photo/stamps/and send them to the lobby to get shoes/coats on to assist with this. Extending your rental time is also valuable for this reason as well.
  • Does Haven Movement Centre provide food or birthday cakes?
No. We do not provide any food, but you are welcome to bring and serve your own food/cake. *Please note, no alchohol is allowed in the facility.
  • Do you have a fridge or freezer for birthday cakes?
We have a VERY small bar-sized fridge in the downstairs lobby. Staff put their lunches in it and there's ice packs for injuries & cream for coffee/tea. You are welcome to use it but it is VERY small and no freezer so I would not depend on it. We recommend bringing a cooler if necessary.
  • What do I need to bring to the party?
We will provide tables, chairs, and staff members to run and assist your party. Please bring table cloths (for 5 x 6ft size tables) if desired and any food/drinks/cake & serving utensils you may want to serve. we recommend keeping decor to a minimum, as there is no prior set-up time allocated, and the children spend the majority of the time in the gym anyways. *Please note, no helium balloons or alchohol is allowed in the facility.
  • Can we get more time added to our party?
It depends! Generally you can only extend your time if you are booked in the last time slot of the day. This is typically the 5:15pm time on Saturdays (you may extend for a maximum of 30 minutes!) or the 4:45pm time on Sundays (you may extend for a maximum of 60 minutes!), but these times may also vary. Earlier time slots are run back to back, with only 15 minutes between for staff to clean and re-set the space, making it impossible to add extra time. If you are the last party time slot of the day, please request additional time well in advance (minimum 2 weeks prior for scheduling), and we may grant at our discretion for an added fee of $75-$150+gst for the 30-60 minutes extra. If you stay past your 2 hour booked time slot, without prior booking approval and payment, you will incur a $100/hour over time fee for each hour (or portion of) if you remain in the facility, that will be charged immediately. The staff need time to clean, and reset between parties, and deserve to end their shift on time at the end of the day.
  • What should the kids wear for the birthday?
T-shirts, tank tops, shorts, bodysuits, or stretchy pants/sweatpants. Please no baggy clothes, long sleeve shirts, or dresses, and no jewellery. Long hair should be pulled up and out of their faces. Children will be rolling so make sure they do not have anything in their hair/on their heads that might hurt them. Avoid metal objects like buttons, zippers and belts. Party dresses, though fun, are not the best option for this type of event! Socks are optional, but bare feet are best for optimal safety and grip. Please share this with your guests on your invites! Guests may also bring in their own labelled water bottle if desired.
  • What is the 2 hour Birthday Party/Event Rental Itinerary?
We normally go over safety rules with the children first, then depending on what you want out of the booking, we provide open-exploration time on the equipment and some games if you would like. Then about an hour into the party, you can serve food and wrap up with more games or open-exploration. Honestly, most children just want to explore and play in the gym but you may curate your ideal party if you would like more structured activities. If you would like any specific games or activities, just let the staff at the party know at the beginning.
  • Do we have to clean up?
The staff may assist you to pack up/clean up the party room after you're finished eating. You are NOT required to clean the party room (i.e. wipe tables, sweep floors, take out garbage)- our staff will do that- we just ask that you remove all decor & items/food that you bring, along with any empty refundable drink containers.
  • Are parents of guests allowed to attend the Birthday Party?
Only participating children of the party may enter the gym area. The base package includes up to 15 children which includes any age child in the gym (even crawling/toddling infants). If you would like 16-24 children, you need to contact us at or directly after booking to add this to your package for a $50 +gst flat fee. Parents of guests must remain in the lobby, designated viewing areas, or party room for the duration. Parents or guardians of the party child/event hosts may enter the gym area to take pictures if they like. For parties with children under the age of 3 years old, it is mandatory to be within arms reach of one parent or guardian at all times, otherwise; no adults are allowed in the gym area, and never on the equipment at any time. We are asking to keep adults to one per child if needed. If the birthday child is older, we recommend asking parents to drop off and pick up instead. Only children under 3 require a parent to be with them. The parties are set up for the children, and there is not a lot of space for spectators.

During Adventure Day Camp events we will have open exploration time, warm ups & stretching, active games, and gymnastics circuits/obstacle courses. We will offer a snack time about half way through the 3 hours (for half & full day), and sometimes offer a quieter down time activity such as colouring or a simple craft. We request that you pack extra clothes in case of spills/accidents/etc. No personal items such as stuffed animals, toys, or electronics may be brought into the gym. During summer camps we may take occasional outings- walking to a local park. We have 2 staff for every Kids Night Out, so that one can always attend to injuries, emergencies, make phone calls to parent/guardians, assist children, or anything else that might temporarily pull them away from the group, while ensuring the rest of the kids are safe. All staff have clear criminal record checks for working with vulnerable populations (kids), and basic first aid + CPR certifications. We have a first aid kit on site to attend to minor injuries. Once everyone has arrived, we lock the front door for the duration of the event so no-one besides the confirmed pick up parent/guardian can enter. We will have families call if they come early for pick up, to be let in. All children must be signed in & out, and have a parent/guardian phone number on file that we can reach them at during the event if needed. At Haven Movement Centre, we use these steps to manage behaviour and safety: 1. EXPLANATION: We will explain our expectations and how to stay safe while in our care. 2. • My child needs help in the bathroom, will you help them?
No. Your child needs to be independently potty trained in order to attend this event. Independently potty trained means they need NO assistance in the washroom for any step including pants up & down, wiping, hand washing, etc. We do not have the capacity to assist with bathroom needs, and our bathrooms are set up well for independence with stools for the kids to reach the toilets and sinks. We are not a licensed childcare, therefore our instructors are not trained or have the resources to help with toileting safely while managing the other students in the event. In the case of an accident or emergency, of course staff will step in and do what's needed to help a child if no parent or guardian is available.

It is up to you to provide a snack, and a labelled water bottle.
  • Can we stay and watch for Kids Night Out?
No. It's Kids Night Out so the idea is for the kids to enjoy a night of fun (with no parents!), and more importantly, for the parents/guardians to get a well-deserved break! You can relax at home, get some shopping done, or meet friends/your partner for dinner/a date night; all the while resting easy that your kids are being cared for and having a blast (and it's most likely less expensive than hiring a babysitter, and your house stays mess-free too!) You may hang around in the viewing area at drop off for a few minutes to ensure your child is settled, but if there is severe separation anxiety, your child may benefit more from you saying goodbye and not lingering, OR your child just might not be ready for this type of event. We will contact you if we feel your child is not doing well.

  • Do you provide dinner or snack?
No. We ask that you feed your kid(s) dinner prior to attending the event. We know it's a bit early for some to eat dinner, so we ask that you send a hearty snack for them to enjoy. We will give them time for their snack about half way through. Please also send a labelled & filled-up water bottle with them. *Please note, we do not have a fridge, nor are we able to heat food on site. Please do not send anything with tree nuts or peanuts.
  • My child needs help in the bathroom, will you help them?

  • What age can kids attend this event?
3 - 11 year olds may attend this event. Children must be independently potty trained and able to communicate basic needs, follow instructions, and safety rules given by instructors in order to attend. If this may not be possible, we ask that they do not attend until they are capable. If you think this event is too late for your younger child, or that they may struggle with behaviour at a longer event, please reach out to us to discuss. You can either pick up early, or we may suggest waiting until they are socially/emotionally ready for this type of independent event.
  • Can we just drop in/show up/register the day of?
You must pre-register for this event. You will have had to create an account, and agree to our policies and terms prior in order to have your child insured in our facility. We also require payment in advance. We ask that you register a minimum of 24 hours in advance, but more is of course best. If we have not reached our minimum of 6 kids enrolled by 24 hours prior, we may have to cancel the event. If we have reached the minimum, registration will stay open within the 24 hours leading up to the event, given there is available space. You may not just show up to the event hoping for a space, as staff do not have the ability to register you in, or take payment.
  • Terms & Conditions - Kids Night Out
Registration Terms For Kids Night Out: Registration for Kids Night Out needs to be made in advance. Payment needs to be made at time of booking, or you will not be enrolled in the event. We do not offer any refunds or credits once payment has been made. If there is an extenuating circumstance and you cannot attend a registered Kids Night Out, please contact customer service 48 hours or more in advance, and we will try to reschedule based on availability. Please note: All other facility use terms and conditions apply to Kids Night Out.
  • What age kids can attend?
Kids age 0-6 may attend Pre-School Open Gym times, and ages 0-11 for All Ages sessions. It's best for kids who are confidently walking & up, as they will get the most out of the equipment and space. If your child is moving around (i.e. crawling, walking, etc) and will be exploring the gym, they need to be registered and pay for open-gym time. This is for 2 reasons: 1. They need to be in our registration system, with you having agreed to our policies & terms, in order for them to be insured in our facility. 2. It's fair to the other paying members who have paid for the facility use and time. *If you have an infant who will be strapped to an adult in a carrier or in an infant car seat for the duration, that is fine, and they do not need to be registered or pay. We don't always have All Ages open gym sessions running. Please email hello@havenmovementcentre.ca if you have interest in a School-Age/All Age Open Gym time, and if there's enough interest, we may add one to the schedule.
  • Can we just show up the day of like a drop in?
No. You need to be pre-registered to attend an Open Gym session. This is for a few reasons: 1. You need to have created an account, and agreed to our policies and terms, in order to have your child insured in our facility. 2. You need to make payment prior to attending, online. (Staff cannot take registrations or payments at open gym). 3. We need a minimum enrollment to run these open gym times, and if that minImum is not met, we may need to cancel it and give you a credit for a future drop-in time. We ask you register a minimum 24 hours in advance or more. If an open gym session is showing as open for bookings online, it is running, and you may register right up until the event start.
  • What do we do at Open Gym?
It is set up as supervised open exploration time in the gym. Which means, as long as your child is following the safety rules (which will be explained to you at the start), they may explore what equipment and areas they like. The instructors may play music and offer other equipment to play with at their discretion (such as balls, hoops, scarves, bean bags, parachute, and more). Instructors will not be showing you or your child gymnastics circuits, skills, or spotting techniques during this time. We ask if you are interested in that, to join a weekly class instead of or as well as coming to open gym! NO adults are allowed on any equipment, at any time. No exceptions.
  • Can I drop off my child and come back at the end?
No. Pre-School open gym is a parent-participation event. You must be in the gym, and within arms reach of your child at all times for safety. There will be an instructor to supervise but your child is your responsibility during these events. All Ages open gym- if your child is 6 or older, they will come into the gym by themselves, but you must remain in the facility for the duration for safety as there is only one supervising instructor. A reminder that NO adults are allowed on any equipment, at any time. No exceptions.
  • We can't attend, can we get a refund?
We do not offer any refunds or credits once payment has been made. If there is an extenuating circumstance and you cannot attend a booked open gym session, please contact us asap and we will see what we can do to accommodate the situation at our discretion.
